A fellow tumblr, doorman and art installer (sorta) and obviously a Swayze fan.

1) How do you best describe your tumblr? Well, my Tumblr is a slow morphing dribble of pretty, funny and serious things that are happening to me and around me. It used to be edr.tumblr.com. It was originally supposed to be a collective dribble from all the members of EDR ( one of my bands http://deathrattle.warsights.com/ ) but after a while it was just me who was only I who was posting to it so I decided to take it over as the Doorman.

2) Who are your doorman influences? Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse and Richie Hendo from the Lamplighter on Abbott and Cordova in Vancouver.

3) How do you describe vancouver bar attendees? Well there’s s many different types of people that attend bars in Vancouver. Im not even gonna touch Granville street. I work in Gastown and it varies greatly. The Pub that I work at is usually pretty chilled out, drinking and talking and the occasional song breaks out. Its a kind of eat, drink and be merry place. Next door is the legendary Blarney Stone where most of my entertainment comes from. A lot of Bridge Kids (kids from Surrey, Delta etc…) showing up in party buses and limos and UBC/SFU students fresh from Mommy’s house, drinking till they pass out (often in front of the bar) to the sounds of Killarney (the band who’s been playing there on weekends for the last 25years or more!) Its really charming and disgusting at the same time. But everybody needs to learn how to drink sooner or later.

4) How do you describe vancouver artists, as an art installer? Vancouver is full of incredible artists and its a great place to live and work. Art installer really isnt the right word for what I do, though I do install shows sometimes. I help people make work and help them consider the aesthetics of technology within the frame work of whatever piece they are working on. Its fun and there is a lot of variety of artists that I get to work with. Painters, photographers, film makers, theatre shows… all sorts of stuff. 4.5) tumblr, vs. twitter, hi5 vs. friendster vs facebook vs. myspace vs. geocities. who would win in a fight? Well my tumblr and twitter and facebook are all linked together in someway or another. MySpace is good for bands, though bandcamp is better (functionality wise). I think i signed on to Hi5 once and friendster maybe a couple of times when it first started. Geocities doesnt even exist any more? Regardless google will own them all one day and then some government will own them and then we’re fucked.

5) Whats your fav mexican resturant? La Taqueria , pinche Taco shop. If you haven’t tried this place yet…and dont within a week of reading this…you’re missing out.
